A Taste of West Africa at Mama Ashanti Waterfront

Last Saturday evening, I found myself at the cozy and enchanting Mama Ashanti Waterfront, located in Kuwinda Langata, Nairobi. As soon as I entered, it felt like being transported to West Africa: vibrant colors, joyous music, and the aroma of spices dancing in the air.

My heart was set on trying the famed Grilled Fish with Rice and Spinach Sauce. The moment it arrived at my table, I was captivated by its presentation. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a slight crisp on the outside while remaining tender and flaky within. The spinach sauce, vibrant and rich in taste, beautifully complemented the fish, creating a delightful culinary experience that I won't soon forget.

Throughout my meal, I was fortunate to be attended by Grace Murage. She was not just a waitress but a vibrant presence who infused warmth into our dining experience. Grace was attentive and made excellent recommendations that enhanced my meal, ensuring my experience went smoothly. I could tell she genuinely cared about ensuring I was enjoying my visit and was quick to refill my drinks and offer dessert options.

The atmosphere was lively yet cozy, making it perfect for both family gatherings and romantic dinners. The intricate decorations and colorful artwork beautifully represented the essence of African culture, making the ambiance something truly special. With the unique blend of flavors and the heartwarming service I received, I felt a strong sense of community and culture during my visit.

For dessert, I couldn’t resist getting the Jollof Spaghetti, a delightful and mouthwatering flavor that layers perfectly with the spices of West African cuisine. It was incredibly satisfying, bursting with tastes that left me wanting more. My taste buds were truly treated to a heartwarming journey!

If you ever find yourself in Nairobi, I highly recommend visiting Mama Ashanti. Not only does it offer great value for the authentic traditional dishes, but the service is unparalleled. The entire staff exuded friendliness, and I noticed other guests enjoying their time immensely, which speaks volumes about this establishment.

Leaving Mama Ashanti, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the experience. It was more than just a meal; it was a cultural journey filled with love and tradition. I will certainly be back for more of Grace Murage's wonderful service and more of their delectable dishes.
